Incase you missed it. Fogland recently hosted the screen printing committee from The Vera Project. Here is a message from Laura Crisler, the incredible Committee Co-Chair who ran this project and made the whole thing possible!
“The Vera Project Screenprint Committee is honored to team up with our new neighbors, KEXP, to curate and produce a set of limited edition handmade screenprinted posters in celebration of KEXP’s New Home Grand Opening April 16th. Vera’s Screenprint Committee is a volunteer run group focused on enriching Seattle’s screenprint community through affordable education, hands-on learning, and collective engagement. Our goal was to get a collection of artists who truly represent the energy of a KEXP/VERA collaboration. The main event poster is designed by Sub Pop Art Direct Jeff Kleinsmith and comes in 4 different color variations. Victor Melendez learned to print at Vera and designed the poster showcasing Microsoft’s: “Inside the Music of KEXP” installation – an interactive exhibit featuring the music of alt-J, Samaris, Olafur Arnalds, and Floating Points. Chelsea Wirtz designed for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Barry Blankenship created the Strand of Oaks poster. Finally, the Screenprint Committee’s own Tory Franklin and Eric Carnell designed for Hey Marseilles and Bob Mould.

The result is a beautiful collection showcasing some of Seattle’s best gig poster designers, printed by a group of volunteers of varying backgrounds, in celebration of a transition we’re all excited to be a part of. We hope you like them!”
